Lynn Bailey Witty is a singer-songwriter, artist, and actress. She began performing professionally when she was nine years old. She studied at Walnut Hill School For The Arts and continued her training through college and graduate school. Her classical training prepared her to become the versatile contemporary artist she is today. Her experience in the arts spans over thirty years. She is a creative innovator and enjoys working with people. She has experience on stage and screen being front and center but also knows what it means to work behind the scenes. She enjoys collaborating with others to create beauty and excellence.
She is a member of Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA, Actors Equity, and is a BMI songwriter.
Performance venues include Carnegie Hall (Special Guest Artist), SUNY Purchase, Club Passim, The Burren, The Comic Strip NY, Merrill Auditorium, Moody Hall, Ridgefield Theater Barn, Curtain Call, Centennial Hall, Something Different NY, Westchester Broadway Theater, The Adventures Of Zak, and The Wild Goose Festival (“The Gallows” by Northern Irish author and public speaker Peter Rollins), Cooper Union Great Hall (International Arts Movement with artist Makoto Fujimura). Performance credits include: Rob Mathes (Sting), Vanessa Williams, Michael McDonald, Ossie Davis, Paul Baloche, and Tim Janis. This past summer she performed at SoulFest 2015, bringing her original songs and artwork, to a festival that attracts over 13,000 people and will return again a second time as a guest artist to SoulFest 2016.
As a singer-songwriter and recording artist her recording credits include her own songs that she has written and arranged : “I Will Always Be Your Home”, “Stable Town”, “Refund On My Heart”, “Still Small Voice”, “Angel Passing Through", and “You Give Me The Strength” (available on iTunes). Another recent recording project Homegrown, features a collection of acoustic oriented covers, arranged by Lynn, recorded live in her home studio. These songs feature her unique storytelling through song, in an organic intimate setting (available on iTunes). Other recording credits include: her self titled album, Vanessa Williams' Star Bright, Rob Mathes William The Angel, Christmas is Coming, Wheelbarrow, and Evening Train,Trinity Church Live, Holi-daytime Soap Opera Christmas (RCA Records), numerous projects for Maranatha!, Steve Green’s The First Noel, and numerous projects with Tim Janis. She has just finished recording a new album (summer 2016) at Carriage House Studios that will be all her own original songs.
Lynn is distinctively versatile, moving seamlessly from national on-camera commercials to voice overs and jingles for household names like Duncan Hines, Toyota, Amtrak, Dora The Explorer, Sponge Bob Square Pants, and Nickelodeon. National print advertisements featuring Lynn include: The National Campaign Against Drug Abuse, CD ROM Magazine (cover), Stove Top Stuffing, and Honey Combs. PBS featured her as a special guest artist on both nationally televised productions “Beautiful America” with George Clooney and “American Christmas Carol” with James Earl Jones. She has enjoyed working on numerous independent films, as well as larger budget productions. She has been both on camera as an actress and photo double, and off camera as a stand-in. Her IMDB credits include: Confessions of A Shopaholic, Are We There Yet?, Old Dogs, 27 Dresses, Lipstick Jungle, Sex and The City, The Beaver, What Happens in Vegas, and Gossip Girl. She recently completed working on the feature film Central Intelligence, which filmed in the greater Boston area.
Lynn is a prolific artist not only as a singer-songwriter, but as a visual artist as well. Her abstract paintings, handmade jewelry, and photographs have been featured in galleries and art shows including: Newton Open Studios, The Gallery at First Baptist Church Newton Centre, From Under the Snow Exhibit, Spring! Coming Soon, Art Gallery Living Room Live (a collaboration of music & art with other female artists), Salon RS, New TV Production Services, and The New Art Center. Her artwork and lyrics were recently published in “My Fanzine Coming Soon no.7”, a collaboration with other artists, poets, and musicians curated by French artist Frederic Sanchez.
Most recently, Lynn is performing around the Northeast (NY/Boston) as a singer-songwriter. Venues include “Living Room Shows” and House Concerts that she has created. These performances take place in homes, pubs, lounges, clubs, art galleries, churches, coffee houses, and other intimate venues and offer a unique window into her storytelling through song.
